Wild rice dressing
Ingredients/Components
- wild rice - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cold water - 3 c
- 2-3 slices bacon, cut up
- celery, diced - 3/4 c
- onion, chopped - 1/4 c
- minced parsley - 2 Tbsp
- sliced mushrooms drained - 1 c
- can mushroom soup - 1 item
- rosemary - 1/8 tsp
- thyme leaves - 1/2 tsp
How to make wild rice dressing:
Wash rice several times, drain and add 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 1 hour, or until rice is tender. Add water as it boils off and is absorbed.Saute in skillet, bacon, celery and onions. Drain off fat. Add parsley, mushrooms, mushroom soup, rosemary and thyme. Mix all ingredients together and use to stuff turkey. No turkey? Mixture may be heated in crock-pot for 3-4 hours on low heat.
