Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • chopped celery
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp
  • rubbed sage - 1/2 tsp
  • white bread cubes - 4 c
  • whole wheat bread cubes - 4 c

How to make whole wheat casserole stuffing:

Saute celery and onion in butter. Add salt, sage, thyme and pepper. Stir and pour over bread. Mix lightly.

Combine eggs and water. Pour over all and stir thoroughly until combined. Place in 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes. Makes 4 1/2 cups stuffing.
