Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- sour cream - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- powdered sugar
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- margarine - 1 c
- plus 2 Tbsp - 2 c
- orange or lemon extract - 1/2 tsp
- grated rind of 1 lemon or orange
How to make white texas sheet cake:
Frosting:1/2 c. margarine6 Tbsp. milk3 1/2 c. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. orange or lemon extract grated rind of 1 lemon or orange1 c. chopped walnuts Cake: Bring water and margarine to a boil. Remove from heat, add while hot the flour, sugar and salt. Beat in eggs, sour cream and baking soda. Add orange or lemon rind and extract. Pour into greased jelly roll pan and bake at 375° for 22 minutes.Frosting: Boil margarine and milk. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar. Add orange or lemon extract, grated rind and nuts. Frost cake while still warm.
