Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
How to make white sauce:
Melt butter over low heat in a heavy saucepan. Blend in flour and seasonings. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Makes 1 cup of medium-thick sauce. Best used in creamed and scalloped dishes.Recipe categories: Grains, Sauces, Condiments, etc..
