Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • 8 oz - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • oregano - 1/4 tsp
  • olive oil - 1/4 c
  • chopped parsley - 1/2 tsp
  • clove garlic, thinly sliced - 1 item

How to make white clam sauce:

Heat oil and garlic in a skillet until garlic is lightly browned. Remove from heat. Add water, parsley and dry seasonings; mix well. Stir in clams with juice. Heat thoroughly. Serve hot on cooked spaghetti or macaroni. Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce.

Red Clam Sauce: Follow recipe and add 3 1/2 cups canned tomatoes, sieved with the water and seasonings. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add clams and heat. Makes 5 cups of sauce.
