Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- 8 oz - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- oregano - 1/4 tsp
- olive oil - 1/4 c
- chopped parsley - 1/2 tsp
- clove garlic, thinly sliced - 1 item
How to make white clam sauce:
Heat oil and garlic in a skillet until garlic is lightly browned. Remove from heat. Add water, parsley and dry seasonings; mix well. Stir in clams with juice. Heat thoroughly. Serve hot on cooked spaghetti or macaroni. Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce.Red Clam Sauce: Follow recipe and add 3 1/2 cups canned tomatoes, sieved with the water and seasonings. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add clams and heat. Makes 5 cups of sauce.
