  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 3/4 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cold water - 1/4 c
  • almond extract - 1/4 tsp
  • shredded coconut - 1 c
  • whipping cream - 1/2 c
  • plain flour - 4 Tbsp
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
  • unflavored gelatin - 1 Tbsp

How to make white christmas pie:

Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water. Mix together in the saucepan the flour, salt and milk. Cook over low heat, stirring until it boils. Boil for 1 minute; remove from heat and stir in softened gelatin. Cool. When partially set, beat with rotary beater until smooth and blend in vanilla and almond extract. Gently fold in stiffly beaten whipping cream. Carefully fold in a meringue of the egg whites, cream of tartar and sugar. Fold in coconut and pour into a 9 or 10-inch pie crust. Sprinkle with coconut. Refrigerate.
