White bread


Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 5 tsp
- shortening - 12 Tbsp
- warm water - 2 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- flour about - 12 c
How to make white bread:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, sugar, salt and shortening. Add 6 cups of flour and beat well. Add about 6 cups flour until stiff. Knead well on floured board, adding more flour if it sticks to board.Raise until double in bulk, about 1 hour. Punch down. Let rest 15 to 20 minutes. Shape into 4 loaves. Put into bread pans. Let rise in bread pans for 1 hour. Bake at 400° for 50 minutes. Turn out onto racks to cool.
