Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- clove garlic - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- grated Cheddar cheese - 3/4 c
- uncooked rice - 3/4 c
- sliced black olives - 1/4 c
- can red beans, drained - 1 oz
- tomatoes with juice, chopped
How to make western meal in one:
Brown beef in vegetable oil with garlic. Add the onion and green pepper; cook until onion is transparent. Drain off fat. In a 2-quart casserole dish, combine the meat mixture, salt, chili powder, beans, tomatoes and rice. Bake, covered, at 350° for 30 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with cheese and olives; bake for 15 minutes more. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, One Dish meal.
