  • cider vinegar - 3 oz
  • ice water - 4 oz
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • medium onion, chopped fine - 1 item
  • Wesson oil - 4 oz
  • fresh lump crab meat - 1 lb

How to make west indies salad:

Divide chopped onion in half and spread half over the bottom of a large mixing bowl. Place crab meat over onions. Spread balance of onion over crab meat. Salt and pepper to taste. Pour over all in this order: oil, vinegar and lastly the ice water.
