Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- water - 4 c
- can frozen orange juice - 6 oz
- can frozen lemonade - 6 oz
- whole cloves - 2 tsp
- whole allspice - 2 tsp
- apple cider or apple juice - 2 qt
- 3-inch long cinnamon sticks - 3 item
- 750 ml bottle dry white wine - 1 item
- small orange, sliced, for garnish - 1 item
- small lemon, sliced, for garnish - 1 item
How to make wassail bowl:
In-5-quart saucepan over high heat, heat apple cider, cinnamon sticks, allspice and cloves to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Meanwhile, place orange and lemon slices in heat-safe 5-quart punch bowl; set aside.To cider mixture, add frozen orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, white wine, water and brown sugar; over high heat, heat to boiling. Pour hot mixture over fruit in bowl. Yields about 16 cups, or 32 (1/2-cup) servings. There are 90 calories per serving. A good source of Vitamin C.
