War cake

Ingredients/Components

• chopped nuts optional - 1 item
• c brown sugar - 3/4 item
• c white sugar - 3/4 item
• tsp vanilla - 1 item
• tsp cinnamon - 1 item
• tsp baking soda - 1 item
• c water - 2 item
• Tbsp lard - 1 item
• - 12 oz box raisins - 1 item
• 1/2 to 2 3/4 c flour - 2 item

How to make war cake:

Bring raisins, water, sugars, lard and cinnamon to a boil, turn heat down and boil for approximately 1 minute. Turn off and cool completely. Add baking soda, vanilla flour and nuts. Mix well. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
