Walnut chicken
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- walnut halves - 1 c
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- dry sherry - 2 Tbsp
- crushed red pepper - 1/2 tsp
- grated ginger root - 1 tsp
- chicken breasts, boned, skinned and cut in 1-inch pieces
- medium green peppers, cubed - 2 item
- green onions, bias-sliced - 4 item
How to make walnut chicken:
Blend soy sauce into cornstarch. Stir in sherry, ginger root, sugar, salt and red pepper. Preheat wok or skillet over high heat. Stir-fry peppers and onions in oil about 2 minutes. Remove. Add walnuts to wok and stir-fry about 2 minutes. Remove. Add half of chicken to wok; stir-fry about 2 minutes. Remove and stir-fry other half.Return all chicken to wok. Add soy mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Stir in vegetables and nuts. Cover and cook one minute more.
