  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • paprika - 1 item
  • freshly ground pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • heavy sour cream - 1 c
  • Vidalia onions, sliced and separated - 1 lb

How to make vidalia onion casserole:

In medium saucepan combine onions with water to cover. Bring to a boil; boil 1 minute. Drain well. Transfer to 8-inch square baking dish. In bowl, combine egg, cream, salt and pepper. Pour over onions. Sprinkle with cheese, then paprika. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Serves 6, 216 calories, 101 mg cholesterol, 19 g fat and 382 mg sodium.
