Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- prepared mustard - 1/2 1
- grated sharp cheese - 8 oz
- cracker or bread crumbs Ritz are good - 1 item
How to make vidalia onion casserole:
Slice onions and saute in 1/2 stick margarine. Melt the rest of the margarine in boiler on low heat; stir in flour, seasonings and milk. Add grated cheese to this and let cheese melt. Alternate layers of onions and sauce in 1-quart baking dish. Top with crumbs. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Very rich, but good.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Casseroles.
