Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • bacon - 1 lb
  • medium onion, sliced - 1 item
  • deer roast - 3 5

How to make venison roast:

Season roast with garlic salt, salt and pepper and onion. Wrap roast completely with bacon and hold bacon in place with toothpicks.

Wrap roast tightly with heavy foil and bake at 350° for 3 to 4 hours. Baking depends on tenderness of roast. Remove from oven and let cool with foil around it for 30 minutes so the meat will have time to absorb the juice. Remove from foil and if you like, you can cut up and make a barbecue sauce and put on it. It is good either way.
