Vegetable pilaf
Ingredients/Components
- water
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- shredded carrot
- chopped parsley - 1 c
- sliced mushrooms
- thinly sliced green onions - 1/3 c
- chopped pecans, toasted - 1/4 c
- chicken flavored bouillon granules - 1 tsp
- long grain rice uncooked - 1/2 c
How to make vegetable pilaf:
Combine 1 1/3 cups water and bouillon granules in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil and add rice. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Add mushrooms, carrots, 1/2 cup water, parsley, green onions and pepper to rice; stir well. Cover and cook over low heat 5 minutes. Transfer rice to a serving dish. Sprinkle with toasted pecans.
