Vegetable lo mein
Ingredients/Components
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- carrots - 2 item
- broccoli flowerets - 1 c
- large garlic clove - 1 item
- medium size onion - 1 item
- cooked vermicelli - 2 c
- red pepper sweet - 1 item
- Chinese oyster sauce - 2 Tbsp
- mirin* - 1 Tbsp
How to make vegetable lo mein:
*Mirin is a sweet rice vinegar.Cut onion into 6 to 8 wedges. Julienne the carrots and red pepper. Cut broccoli into bite size pieces.
Heat wok, then add oil. Add onions and stir-fry until tender-crisp. Add carrots, pepper, broccoli and garlic. Continue cooking 3 to 4 minutes. In a small bowl, stir together oyster sauce and mirin. Pour over vegetables; add vermicelli and toss well. Serve hot. Makes 4 servings.
