Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/4 c
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • pepper - 1 item
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • chopped carrots - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • chicken bouillon cubes - 3 item
  • chopped potatoes - 1 c
  • grated Monterey Jack - 1/2 c

How to make vegetable cheese chowder:

In large pan, combine boiling water with bouillon cubes. Then add vegetables and butter. Bring to boil; reduce and simmer until vegetables are tender. Combine milk and flour in blender until smooth. Add to cooked vegetables and cook 3 minutes. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Add parsley and pepper. Serves 4.

Seafood can be added after cheese is melted, if you wish.
