Ingredients/Components
- salt - 5 tsp
- water - 6 c
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped carrots - 1 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- chopped cabbage - 1 c
- barley - 1/4 c
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- chopped potatoes - 1 c
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
How to make vegetable beef soup:
Brown the beef and onions. Add all the chopped vegetables and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Add the barley, water and all spices. Simmer for 1 hour.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Soups & stews, Beef.
