  • bar German sweet chocolate
  • flour

  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • dairy sour cream - 1 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make upside-down german chocolate cake:

Cake:1 (4 oz.) bar German sweet chocolate1/2 c. water2 1/2 c. flour1 1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. soda3 eggs1/2 tsp. salt1 c. dairy sour cream1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 375° (high altitude). In small saucepan, heat 1 1/4 cups water and 1/4 cup butter until butter melts. Pour into ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan or Bundt pan. Stir in brown sugar and coconut; sprinkle marshmallows and nuts over the top. Set aside.

In saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate mixture with remaining cake ingredients. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed and carefully spoon batter over coconut/marshmallow mixture. Place pan on foil or cookie sheet while cooking to guard against spillage. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean. To serve, cut into squares and invert on serving plates. Cake has formed its own frosting. Store in refrigerator.
