Under the sea salad
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/8 tsp
- 3 oz - 1 pkg
- boiling water - 1 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- pear chunks - 1 can
How to make under the sea salad:
Drain pears, reserving 3/4 cup juice. Dice pears and set aside. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; add reserved syrup and lemon juice. Pour 1 1/4 cups into an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan. Chill until set, but not firm, about an hour.Meanwhile, soften cheese until creamy. Very slowly blend in remaining gelatin, beating until smooth. Add pears and cinnamon and spoon into loaf pan or jello mold. Chill until firm, about 4 hours. Unmold and garnish as desired. Makes 6 servings.
For less calories, use sugar-free gelatin, lite pears and lite cream cheese.
