Uncooked tomato sauce
Ingredients/Components
- tomatoes, peeled and cored 1/2 round, 1/2 plum type - 3 lb
- medium onion, peeled and diced - 1 item
- cloves garlic, peeled and quartered - 2 item
- fresh basil, chopped or 1 1/2 Tbsp - 1/3 c
- olive or salad oil - 1/3 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
How to make uncooked tomato sauce:
Chop tomatoes, onion, garlic and basil finely. Add oil, salt and pepper. Let stand 1 hour to use fresh, or pack into containers and freeze. Before serving, heat, stirring. Adjust seasoning. Makes about 5 cups.Recipe categories: Sauces, Dips, Savory sauces.
