Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- margarine - 4 Tbsp
- chopped pecans or walnuts - 1 c
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make turtle cake:
Prepare cake mix according to directions. Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Set remaining batter aside. Bake at 350° for 18 minutes. While cake is baking, melt caramels, milk and butter together. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle baked part of cake with chocolate chips, pour caramel mix over that, then pour remaining cake batter on the top.
