Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 1 1/2
- evaporated milk - 6 Tbsp
- water
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- canola oil - 1/2 c
- bag caramels - 1 (16
- can condensed milk, divided - 1 oz
- Add half the condensed milk; blend
How to make turtle cake:
Combine the first 4 ingredients; mix well. Add half the condensed milk; blend. Pour half the batter into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish that has been well sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.Melt and blend together caramels and remaining milk. Spread over cake; sprinkle with pecans. Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Cool. Frost.Turtle Cake Frosting:1/2 c. margarine3 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. evaporated milk1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla Combine margarine, cocoa and evaporated milk; heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat. Add sugar and vanilla; blend thoroughly. Pour over warm Turtle Cake. Serve when cool.
