  • chopped pecans
  • evaporated milk - 1/2 c
  • chocolate chips - 1 c
  • caramels - 1 pkg
  • box German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
  • melted butter 1 1/2 sticks - 3/4 c

How to make turtle cake:

Mix the German chocolate cake mix with the evaporated milk and butter. Pour 1/2 of this batter into a 13 x 9-inch lightly greased cake pan. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 5 to 6 minutes.

Melt 1 package caramels and 1/3 cup Carnation milk. Pour over baked cake mix. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and chocolate chips. Take remaining cake batter and dot on top. Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes.
