Turnip slaw


Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- mayonnaise - 1/4 c
- thinly sliced green onions - 1/4 c
- chopped sweet red pepper - 1/4 c
- shredded, peeled turnips - 4 c
How to make turnip slaw:
In a bowl, combine all ingredients, except turnips. Pour over turnips and toss well to coat. Refrigerate several hours for flavors to blend. Makes 4 servings.Diabetic Exchange: One serving (prepared with light mayonnaise) equals 2 vegetable and 1 fat; also 113 calories, 305 milligrams sodium, 6 milligrams cholesterol, 18 milligrams carbohydrate, 2 grams protein and 4 grams fat.
