Ingredients/Components
- Great Northern all white dried beans - 1 lb
- ham bone or lots of ham, chopped - 1 item
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- medium potatoes, chopped - 3 item
- large box frozen turnip greens with roots - 1 item
- smoked sausage links - 1/2 lb
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1 item
How to make turnip green soup:
Cover beans with water. Add ham and cook about 2 hours. Add onion, potato and turnip greens. Cook about 45 minutes. Add sausage. Season with salt and pepper. Cook another 15 minutes. Freezes well.Recipe categories: Low cholesterol, Low calorie, Soups & stews.
