Ingredients/Components
- salt
- oleo - 1 item
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/3 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- sage - 1 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- poultry seasoning - 1 tsp
- turkey - 1 item
- cornstarch or flour - 1 item
- Rub turkey with oleo, then add salt and pepper
- left over cold biscuit or bread - 2 c
- turkey juice to moisten well - 1 item
- melted butter if turkey is not fat - 4 Tbsp
- Bake in large baking pan for 1 hour in a 375° oven or until well browned
How to make turkey:
Wash turkey well. Rub turkey with oleo, then add salt and pepper. Place in large roaster with sufficient water to make gravy if desired. Bake in a 300° oven allowing approximately 30 minutes per pound. Reserve juice for gravy and dressing.Cornbread Dressing:4 c. cornbread2 c. left over cold biscuit or bread1/3 c. chopped onion1 c. chopped celery1 1/2 tsp. salt1 tsp. poultry seasoning1 tsp. sage1/2 tsp. pepper turkey juice to moisten well4 Tbsp. melted butter (if turkey is not fat) Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Bake in large baking pan for 1 hour in a 375° oven or until well browned.Giblet Gravy: juice from turkey cornstarch or flour Mix ingredients and cook over low heat until thickened.
