Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • 3 c - 6 oz
  • mayonnaise - 1/2 c
  • can cream of celery soup
  • sliced celery - 1 c
  • chopped bell pepper - 1/4 c
  • can tuna, drained - 6 or
  • chopped canned pimiento - 1/4 c
  • shredded sharp processed American cheese - 1 c
  • toasted almonds, if desired - 1/2 c

How to make tuna-noodle casserole:

Cook noodles using package directions. Drain. Combine noodles, tuna (drained), mayonnaise, celery, onion, green pepper, canned pimiento and salt. Blend cream of celery soup and milk; heat through. Add 1 cup (4 ounces) American cheese, heat and stir until cheese melts. Add to noodle mixture. Turn into 2-quart casserole dish. If desired, top with 1/2 cup toasted, slivered almonds. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 25 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
