Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Dijon mustard - 1/4 c
  • jar chopped pimiento, drained - 1 item
  • chopped celery - 1/4 c
  • can tuna - 1 item
  • green onions - 1/4 c
  • Miracle Whip - 1/2 c
  • green pepper - 1/4 c
  • dry bread crumbs, divided

How to make tuna cakes:

Mix tuna, dressing, mustard, vegetables, pimiento and seasonings. Add 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Shape mixture into 15 (2-inch) balls. Roll in remaining bread crumbs. Coat well. Pat balls in small patties. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Heat oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add tuna patties. Cook 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Add oil as needed. Drain on paper towels. Makes 8 servings.
