Tri-level brownies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- flour - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- hot water - 1 item
- butter, melted - 6 Tbsp
- sq - 1 oz
- quick rolled oats - 1 c
- Fudge Frosting - 1 item
- Stir in 6 tablespoons melted butter
How to make tri-level brownies:
For bottom layer, stir together first 4 ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir in 6 tablespoons melted butter. Pat in a 11 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.For middle layer combine granulated sugar, 1/4 cup butter and chocolate; add egg. Beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt; add to chocolate mixture alternately with a mixture of the milk and vanilla, mixing after each addition. Fold in nuts. Spread batter over baked layer; bake for 25 minutes. Cool. Frost with frosting.Frosting:1 oz. sq. unsweetened chocolate2 Tbsp. butter1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla hot water In a small saucepan melt chocolate and butter over low heat; stir. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Blend in tablespoon of hot water.
