Tomato sauce
Ingredients/Components
- paprika - 1 tsp
- garlic powder - 1 tsp
- parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- oregano - 1 tsp
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- small cans tomato paste - 2 item
- small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- large can whole tomatoes - 1 item
How to make tomato sauce:
Cook onion and green pepper in oil for about 5 minutes. Add tomato paste and four cans of water; stir well. Add whole tomatoes and break them up in the saucepan, then add all your herbs, stir well, cover and simmer for about 2 hours. Taste for flavor; if not enough, add more herbs. Season with salt and pepper.Add meatballs (if desired); let meatballs simmer at least 1/2 hour.
