Tomato sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- water
- can tomato sauce - 8 oz
- dry white wine - 1/4 c
- basil leaves - 1 tsp
- dried oregano - 1/2 tsp
- onion, finely chopped - 1/2 c
- parsley, chopped - 1/4 c
- can tomatoes - 16 oz
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- beef bouillon cube - 1 item
- few grains pepper - 1 item
How to make tomato sauce:
Melt butter in saucepan over low-medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook until tender. Blend in flour. Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until light browned. Add tomatoes, water, tomato sauce, wine, bouillon cube, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in parsley.
