Tomato relish
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- prepared mustard - 1/2 c
- mayonnaise - 1 qt
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- onions - 3 item
- pickling salt - 2 Tbsp
- green tomatoes - 1/2 gal
- green peppers bell - 2 item
- red peppers bell - 2 item
How to make tomato relish:
Grind together tomatoes, peppers and onions. Add 2 tablespoons pickling salt. Let stand overnight. Drain well. Add sugar, vinegar, water and celery seed. Bring to a boil and boil 20 minutes. Drain well again. Cool completely. Add mustard and mayonnaise. Seal in jars. Stores well in refrigerator. Excellent served with crackers.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, Tomato.
