Toffee squares
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- egg - 1 item
- nuts optional - 1 c
- chocolate chips, melted - 1/2 lb
How to make toffee squares:
In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar well. Add egg and beat. Add vanilla. Stir. Add flour and salt. Mix. Spread in ungreased 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut while warm into bars.Recipe categories: Desserts, < 60 mins, For large groups.
