Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 1
- egg yolk - 1 item
- butter no margarine - 1 c
- to 1 1/2 big Hershey chocolate bars - 1 item
How to make toffee squares:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter, sugar, yolk and vanilla; stir in flour and salt until blended. Pack into rectangular 9 x 13-inch greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned. Remove; immediately apply crumbled chocolate bar.If needed, put pan back into oven until chocolate is softened, about 1 minute, to easily smooth chocolate to ice the cookies. Add chopped nuts. Cut into squares about 2 inches in size while still warm.
