Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
- butter 1/2 lb - 1 c
- Nestle or Hershey bar - 1 (6
- crushed walnuts crush in blender - 2/3 c
How to make toffee bars:
Cream butter, sugar and egg yolk. Add flour gradually. Spread dough in greased 9 x 7-inch Pyrex dish. Bake at 350° until medium brown and dough seems set, but not brown on edges, about 15 to 20 minutes. Take out of oven. Place chocolate squares on dough. They will melt. After they have melted, spread out chocolate. Sprinkle nuts on top. Cool and cut into bars. Refrigerate leftovers.Recipe categories: Desserts, Chocolate, Lunch/snacks.
