Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- butter - 2/3 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- egg whites - 2 item
- finely chopped pecans - 1 c
- Buttercream Frosting:1/2 box confectioners sugar
How to make thumbprint cookies:
Buttercream Frosting:1/2 box confectioners sugar1/2 stick margarine pinch of salt1/2 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. milk Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, vanilla and salt; beat well. Gradually add flour, mixing well. Shape in 3/4-inch balls, dip in 2 slightly beaten egg whites, then roll in 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans.Place 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheet; press down center of each with thumb. Bake at 350° for 15 to 17 minutes. Cool slightly, remove from pan and cool on rack. Makes 3 dozen. Put butter cream frosting in thumbprint of each cookie.
Buttercream Frosting: Mix and fill center of cool cookies.
