Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- butter 3 sticks - 3/4 lb
- egg yolks - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- sifted flour - 4 c
How to make thimble cookies:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour and mix thoroughly. Shape dough into small balls, the size of a walnut. Flatten slightly. Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie by using a thimble and lightly pressing the center with your thumb. Spoon a small amount of your favorite jelly or jam into the indentation. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 7 to 8 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Hand Formed cookies.
