Texas tortilla soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- cans chicken broth - 4 oz
- lemon pepper - 1 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- cans tomatoes - 2 oz
- cloves minced garlic - 4 item
- cumin - 1 tsp
- margarine or oil - 2 Tbsp
- ribs celery, diced - 6 item
- large carrots, diced - 2 item
- ground turkey or chicken - 1 lb
- sour cream for garnish - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese for garnish - 1 item
- tostados or corn tortillas - 1 pkg
- avocados for garnish - 1 item
How to make texas tortilla soup:
Saute onion, garlic, carrots, celery and meat in oil. Simmer 5 minutes. Combine seasonings and flour; add to sauteed mixture. Stir. Heat chicken broth. Add tomatoes and rest of ingredients, except tostados and garnishes. Simmer 1 hour.Put tostados or corn tortillas in bowl and add soup. Garnish with sour cream, diced avocados and grated Cheddar cheese.
