Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 item
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick oleo
How to make texas sheet cake:
Icing:1 stick oleo6 Tbsp. milk3 Tbsp. cocoa1 box powdered sugar chopped pecans Put cocoa, water and oleo margarine in a saucepan. Put flour, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, put beaten eggs, buttermilk and soda. Bring mixture in saucepan to a boil and add to dry ingredients. Mix well and pour in buttermilk, eggs and soda mixture. Add vanilla and place in a greased large cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. The last 5 minutes the cake is baking, start the icing and ice the cake as soon as it comes out of oven.Icing: Melt oleo, milk and cocoa over low heat. Mix in box of powdered sugar and chopped nuts; then ice the cake.
