  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 3 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • box confectioners sugar - 1/2 item
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • buttermilk * - 1/2 c
  • Put sugar, flour and salt in bowl

How to make texas sheet cake:

*Hint: For buttermilk, substitute 1/2 cup milk plus 1 teaspoon vinegar.

Put sugar, flour and salt in bowl. Put margarine, water and cocoa in saucepan on low heat. Bring to a boil and add to sugar, flour and salt mixture. Beat until smooth.

Beat eggs, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and vinegar, then add to other ingredients. Pour into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch cookie sheet. (Cake will be thin.) Ice while hot.Icing:1/2 stick margarine2 Tbsp. cocoa3 Tbsp. milk1/2 box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla Mix margarine and cocoa with milk which has been brought to a boil. Add confectioners sugar and vanilla. After spreading on cake, sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
