- salt
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomato juice - 1 c
- tomato sauce - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- rice uncooked
How to make texas rice:
Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over moderate heat. Add the onion and cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until soft. Stir in rice, green pepper, chili powder, oregano, tomato juice and tomato sauce. Then add water and salt. Stir once; cover and bring to a boil.
