Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • dash of paprika - 1 item
  • chicken bouillon cube - 1 item
  • corn - 1 c
  • diced peeled potatoes - 1 c
  • finely chopped jalapeno or green chilies - 1 2

How to make texas corn chowder:

In medium saucepan, saut?© onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour. Add potatoes, water and bouillon. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 7 to 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Add corn, jalapeno, milk and seasonings. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. This recipe only serves 2. Double if you want more.
