Ingredients/Components
- graham cracker crumbs - 1 c
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- whole graham crackers - 1 item
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- Cover with whole graham crackers
How to make texas cookies:
Line pan with butter (8 x 8-inch pan for regular recipe and 9 x 12-inch pan for 1 1/2 recipes). Cover with whole graham crackers. Melt 2 sticks oleo. Mix egg, milk and sugar together; add to melted oleo. Bring to boil. (Stir constantly to prevent burning.) Remove from heat; add nuts, coconut and crumbs. Pour over the layer of graham crackers in the pan. Top with whole graham crackers. Pour icing over the mixture. Chill 5 hours. Freezes very well. Make it the day before or make it ahead and freeze to use later.Icing:1/4 c. oleo2 c. powdered sugar2 to 4 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla Combine all ingredients and pour atop graham crackers.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
