  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar
  • white sugar - 2 c

How to make texas brownies:

Frosting:1/2 c. butter2 Tbsp. cocoa1/4 c. milk3 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. In saucepan, combine butter, shortening, water and cocoa. Stir and heat to boiling. Pour over flour and sugar. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into a well-greased 17 1/2 x 11-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until done.

Frosting: In saucepan, combine butter, cocoa and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as they come out of the oven. Cool and cut into bars.
