Ingredients/Components

  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • onion, chopped - 1 med
  • green pepper - 1 med
  • large egg, beaten - 1 item
  • ground chuck - 1 lb
  • envelope Lipton onion soup mix - 1 item
  • jar hot salsa - 1/2 item
  • monterey jack cheese, grated - 1 c
  • green chilies, drained - 4 oz
  • crushed Frito corn chips - 2 c
  • seasoned Italian tomato sauce - 8 oz

How to make tex-mex bake:

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine corn chips, water and eggs. Press into 9 inch pie plate or casserole. Bake for 10 minutes. Brown ground chuck, drain.

In large bowl, combine onion soup mix, drained beef chuck, chiles, onion and green pepper. Layer this with tomato sauce and cheeses, ending with cheese on top.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and beef is done. Makes about 6 servings. Enjoy.
