Ingredients/Components

  • soy sauce - 1 c
  • sesame oil - 1/8 tsp
  • clove garlic, crushed - 1/2 item
  • firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated - 1 item
  • flank steak, trimmed and scored - 4 small

How to make teriyaki steak:

Arrange steak(s) in a shallow dish. Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and sesame oil. Blend well. Pour over steak(s). Cover and marinate in refrigerator at least 3 hours or overnight, turning occasionally. Broil or barbecue to desired doneness. (If using flank steak, slice diagonally across the grain before serving.)
