  • chicken thighs boned or 10 to 15 drumsticks - 2 3
  • Japanese soy sauce
  • Japanese rice wine sake - 1/4 c
  • Japanese sweet rice wine Mirin - 1/4 c

How to make teriyaki chicken:

Teriyaki Sauce:1/2 c. Japanese soy sauce1/4 c. Japanese rice wine (sake)1/4 c. Japanese sweet rice wine (Mirin) Teriyaki Sauce: Combine sauce ingredients; put in a flat container.

Trim excess fat from chicken thighs; marinate in Teriyaki Sauce overnight.

Heat the oven to 525°. Place chicken on rack; bake for about 30 minutes, or until meat is golden brown. (If you use drumsticks, it takes longer.) While baking, baste the sauce a few times, using a brush.

You can add grated ginger root or garlic in Teriyaki Sauce, if you wish.
