Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- sifted plain flour
How to make tea cakes:
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add vanilla, milk and dry ingredients. Blend well. Place dough on a slightly floured board. Sprinkle a little flour over the dough and roll to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven at 350° for about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned on top.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Coffee cakes.
